Phil
ISO docs are not published until they are finished and then, for some there is a charge. We are trying to get ISO to publish these docs for education for free but have not got that agreement (yet).

I certainly welcome comments and help and can provide a copy of the relevant docs for anyone able to help on the condition that they do not publish them or spread them about. People can contact me directly: liddy @ sunriseresearch.org

Hi Phil,

Here is the latest paper from the Jorum Team - Issues surrounding syndicated feed into institutional repositories.

http://community.jorum.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=25&edit=0&sesskey=TVvV2b4kii

It can be found on the Jorum Community Bay.

This paper examines the issues surrounding the potential offered by a syndicating feed standard such as Really Simple Syndication (RSS) and the ATOM protocol. The distinction is made between notification of metadata, for the purpose of registration and supply of metadata (to support search and subsequent onward linking to the object described being hosted elsewhere) and deposit of the object with metadata (to support its release for others to use).
